Immediacy Launches in Australia with Immediacy WCMs 6.0

Mediasurface, one of the fastest growing content management solution (CMS) providers, has announced the launch of Immediacy v6.0 to support its expansion into Australia. Adding Immediacy to the existing CMS portfolio for the Australian market further establishes Mediasurface's commitment to providing businesses with enterprise quality, simple to use content management software. This latest product launch guarantees a Mediasurface CMS to suit all Australian businesses, from large corporations to small and medium enterprises. Mediasurface entered the Australian CMS market in 2005 with its pioneering Morello and Pepperio web content management solutions.

Chris Tew, Senior Vice President, Mediasurface Asia Pacific commented on the launch of Immediacy;

"We are delighted to have officially launched Immediacy WCMs 6.0 in Australia. Encompassing the latest .Net 2/3 technology, Immediacy 6.0 is both scalable and flexible. Its proven track record in over 350 organisations demonstrates to the Australian business market that this is a mid level CMS with which they can create, manage and control their websites, to really achieve all their web objectives."

Immediacy WCMs 6.0 includes ground-breaking Microsoft SharePoint Services (MOSS 2007) integration plus enhanced search optimisation and taxonomy features designed to drive compliance, personalisation and relevant search results.  It also includes, as standard, a host of new enhancements for social networking including RSS, OpenSearch, Robot.txt, PDF output and blog capabilities.

The key benefits of Immediacy WCMs 6.0 include:

  • Immediacy SharePoint Connector designed to allow non-technical users to publish accessibility compliant content directly from SharePoint. In addition, information can be captured from any number of web sites and published directly back into SharePoint without the need for a direct integration.  This reduces the amount of duplicate data and helps ensure web sites standards are maintained as MOSS 2007 is rolled out across organisations
  • Taxonomy and Categorisation Manager employs sophisticated algorithms to extract keywords, key phrases and a summarised description from any web page or document, then automatically categorise it against a taxonomy or folksonomy.  This improves the quality and relevance of search results and makes it easy for users to edit and extract, rather than originate, this information. This frees them up to properly participate in categorising and describing the information they create, thereby improving organic search results
  • Improved Search Engine Optimisation is further achieved as Immediacy WCMs 6.0 automatically generates the XHTML-validated code that search engines such as Google prefer.  Effective free search results can be achieved when this is combined with search engine marketing techniques such as keyword optimisation, friendly URLs and meta-rich page content
  • Extended Web 2.0 functionality in Immediacy WCMs 6.0 makes it easy to create 'My Page' and profiles that help to deliver the content, context and connections on which social interaction can flourish.  Blog capabilities make it easy for users to create and comment on topical content whilst Immediacy WCMs 6.0 creates a platform for community-driven tags (folksonomies) and business taxonomies to co-exist

In addition, new features have been included to further improve the usability, user adoption and speed of deployment.  The new Deployment Server for example has been designed to speed up the transfer of content from the staging environment to the production server, enabling users to deploy much larger websites, improve disaster recovery and allow swift upgrades with zero downtime.

Chris Tew, SVP, Mediasurface Asia Pacific adds further,

"Immediacy WCMs 6.0 is developed with one goal in mind; to make it easy for our customers to deliver dynamic content in ways that make their sites really stand out in, what is now a very large crowd.  Everything they need to build, maintain and grow their web, intranet and extranet sites is right there, out of the box in one highly affordable solution."

Immediacy was acquired by Mediasurface in July 2007.  Immediacy, as the UK's leading .Net web content management provider, has built its reputation on delivering quick, intuitive and affordable solutions for corporate and public sector organisations and departments, as well as smaller businesses operating globally.
